MY FATHER'S DAY TESTIMONY

Hello, my Name is Dawn.  I am a 38 year old female from New Jersey. I want to share this testimony to give God all the glory deserved and to show his mercy and grace.

Here's my story:  When I was a  couple years old, my father decided after getting married and having five kids, he didn't want to be married, so he decided to leave my mom. Not only did he leave my Mom, he left us as well.  He moved to California and disappeared. I never heard from or met him; I never talked to him or his side of the family.  I was raised completely without a father. 

Then at the young age of 11 he died in California.  I never went to his funeral because my Mom thought I was too young.  Now I was raised without a dad and before I got of age to try and meet him, he dies.

Every Father's Day I felt saddened, alone and hurt.  Even though I had a good stepdad that helped raised me, I still couldn't help but wish my real dad was alive.

Now to show GOD's GRACE AND MERCY, I had an operation last year (2004). I woke up on Father's Day with pains in my lower back and it was hard for me to breathe.  I went to the hospital and after being there for hours and hours the news came - I had developed a PE blood clot.  The doctor said I was lucky to be alive.  I praised God that he let me live.

Well once again Father's Day was coming up and I was feeling sad; then God spoke to me and said, "On your day of sadness I give you joy."  I wondered how could that be...  He reminded me it was because He let me live; God spared my life.

So on the day I should be sad, its a DAY OF CELEBRATION.  Instead of being sad because of never knowing my earthly father, I  thank my Father above for not only sparing my life but for sparing my life on the day I was most saddened, on Father's Day! 

I pray this will reach out to all, to show God's love and I want to also add that God is a good God and we need to keep praying and believing in him and giving him all the glory.  Thank you Jesus for Father's Day!!
